Le programme 

Il y aura des échanges étudiant entre une classe d’immersion française et des élèves d’une école francophone sous le thème du monument de Chipoudie

Période 

Le programme sera livré durant l’année scolaire 2018-2019 se terminant au dévoilement du monument le 16 août 2019.

Les préparatifs auront lieu durant l’année scolaire 2017-2018.

Les écoles préférées et le niveau des élèves :

Les premiers choix sont l’École Riverside-Albert et celle de Memramcook. Les niveaux souhaités sont les quatrième et cinquième année. Ces deux écoles sont idéales surtout à cause de leur proximité une l’autre et que ce sont deux écoles de milieux ruraux.

Les objectifs pédagogiques 

* Permettre une meilleure connaissance de l’histoire du littoral de la Baie de Shepody du début du 18iéme siècle.
* Fournir la chance d’échanger avec leurs homologues et s’engager dans un dialogue de sorte qu’ils puissent apprendre et apprécier une autre culture. 
* Une chance de constater l’importance d’être bilingue. 
* Une chance de visiter leurs homologues dans leur propre milieu de sorte à acquérir une meilleure appréciation de ce qu’ils ont en commun.
* Avoir la chance d’enrichir leur cours en sciences sociales.
* Avoir la chance d’enrichir leur langue seconde.
* Avoir la chance de reconnaître qu’il soit utile d’entendre différents points de vue.
* Apprécier ce à quoi consiste le compromis lors d’un débat controversé.

The Program :

A student exchange program will take place between one French immersion class and a francophone class as part of the activities surrounding the unveiling of the Chipoudie monument in Riverside-Albert. 

Time frame:

 Program will be delivered during the school year 2018-2019 ending with the unveiling of the monument on August 16, 2019.

Preliminary plans should be carried out during the present school year.

Preferred schools and levels:

 The Riverside-Albert school and the Memramcook school. The preferred levels are grades 4 or 5 or a combination of the two. These two schools would be most suitable because of their location near the monument, their close proximity to each other and the rural nature of the communities. 

Curriculum outcomes:

At the end of the program, the students will:

* Have a better knowledge of the early 18th-century history of the communities along the Shipody Bay.
* Have been provided an opportunity to exchange with their counterparts and engage in a useful dialogue so that they acquire an appreciate and understand of a culture other than their own.
* An opportunity to reflect on the advantages of a bilingual education.
* An opportunity to visit their counterparts in their own communities so that they will acquire a better appreciation of what they have in common.
* Have an opportunity to enrich their prescribed social science course of study.
* Have an opportunity to enrich their second language program.
* To acquire an experience in appreciating that it is useful to hear different points of view.
* An experience in understanding the meaning of compromising when it comes to debating an issue. 

Curriculum:

* Participating teachers will develop the curriculum activities consistent with the desired outcome as described above.
* The teachers will attempt to coordinate their teaching activities in areas where it is deemed desirable.
